About the Role
C&C Construction Group is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects. This position works closely with the Project Manager and field teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting with project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, drawings, and material tracking, while maintaining accurate and organized project records. This role also supports scheduling updates, quantity tracking, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors.
Project Engineers regularly interact with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers to help resolve field issues and ensure work progresses according to plans and specifications. Time will be split between the office and job sites to maintain alignment between project documentation and field execution.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to grow into a Project Manager role within a commercial construction environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent construction experience)
1–3+ years of experience in commercial construction in a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager role
Experience supporting Project Managers on commercial construction projects
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
Familiarity with:
RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Project schedules and progress tracking
Quantity takeoffs and material tracking
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in construction software and tools such as:
Procore
Raken
Blue Beam
Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
PDF markup and document control tools
Ability to communicate effectively with:
Project managers
Superintendents and foremen
Subcontractors and vendors
Understanding of jobsite safety standards and construction workflows
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Willingness to learn and driven to grow
Preferred (but not required):
Experience on commercial masonry or concrete projects
Field experience working alongside superintendents or foremen
Exposure to cost tracking, budgeting, or buyout processes
Internship or co-op experience in commercial construction
